Here are the four things that you need to have in place to create a thriving practice full of patients who want to return again and again.
Perpetual Client Attraction System
Patient On-boarding system for your new clients
Patient Retention System
Patient Referral System
Now if you don’t know what a client attraction system is then let me break it down for you. The Perpetual Client Attraction System is a simple way of getting in front of your ideal clients on a regular controlled basis. The most simple way to do this is to have a marketing plan that you will implement or someone else will implement. Consistency is king when it comes to marketing and if you are going to write a blog or post on Facebook™ or twitter then you must do it on a regular schedule to be effective. The next step is to collect leads! Make sure there is a way to collect leads on your website, in your posts, blogs etc. You are wasting your time if you are not collecting leads and giving your potential customers a way to stay in touch with you. Think of it like dating…you want to give them something valuable like dinner or a coffee, then you want to ask for something in return like a kiss or an email address:) Now I am just kidding, you probably should not kiss your potential client as that would be unethical so I suggest easing in with just getting their email or phone number first. Once you have their email you can connect with them and invite them in for a free consultation. I think the free consultation is one of the best ways to get to know a client and start to build that know, like and trust factor.
The second step is the client on-boarding system, this includes what you say, or what the receptionist says to the client, paperwork and financials. This should all be simple and clear so you know what to do for each client that comes in for a consult. This can be done in many ways but the important thing is that you are getting people to rebook and agree to a treatment plan. The client should be educated about how acupuncture works and why it is important for them to return and stick to the treatment plan to get the best results.
The third step is the patient retention system. This is a system to keep your patients engaged and coming back. So this could be reminder calls or emails, this can also be weekly newsletter, this can also be a handout that explains what to do until their next visit. Whatever you do you want the system to be simple and easy to do and effective at keeping your patients engaged with your practice.
The fourth step is to have a referral system in place. This could be referral cards that you give to your clients that they can give to their friends and family. This is an easy step that is easily forgotten but can be so so effective. A happy client is the best referral. Asking patients for referrals may seem awkward at first but be casual and just ask. Most people are happy to share the love with people they care about. Think about how lyft works to get referrals. Setting up a system that invites people into your practice by sharing a free consult could be as easy as pie.
So there you have it. My full proof guide to setting up your million dollar practice:)
